Read MoreDescription: This action-packed fighting game features a ridiculous number of characters that have appeared on Nintendo platforms, from Mario to Link to Pikachu ... to Solid Snake! As they square off in famous locales drawn from the rich history of Nintendo, literally anything can happen - and usually does. With limitless customizing options, items and weapons that boggle the mind and a wealth of modes, this game has truly infinite replayability.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl features a sprawling adventure mode called "The Subspace Emissary" that's a full game in and of itself. Players jump and brawl their way through enemy-packed side-scrolling levels, meeting up with other characters, watching incredible cinematics and taking on massive bosses.
For the first time, this celebrated series is going Wi-Fi, allowing up to four players to brawl, no matter where they may be.
Characters: Mario, Samus, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Solid Snake, Meta Knight, Kirby, Pikachu, Zero Suit Samus, Link, Zelda, Pit and Wario, to name just a few. Anyone and anything from a Nintendo universe could appear in this game in one form or another.
Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Anything from a Nintendo game could conceivably be in this game, whether it's a musical score, an obscure item or a character that shows up to help the fighters. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is eminently customizable, so players can choose the frequency of items appearing, adjust musical scores and basically play the game however they'd like. Items range from baseball bats to proximity mines to Poké Balls to Assist Trophies, which spawn characters like Hammer Bros. and Sim City's Dr. Wright to attack others. Minimize |

Strengths: Super Smash Brothers Brawl has 4 player fighting, online play and lots of playable characters with different special moves.
Weaknesses: I have not found any.
Summary: Pitting your favorite characters against one another never gets old. Playing with new characters is also worth mentioning. While you still have Pikachu, Mario, Donkey Kong, you now have Metal Gear Solid's Snake and Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog joining the fight. Anyone can pick up a Wii Remote and use a couple of buttons to pull off all the jumps, attacks, and special moves you'll need to have fun. Voice chat is not an option in online play. You can exchange friend codes or play against random people. Story mode is the largest single addition to the series. Stage builder mode has great potential, allowing players to create original level designs that can be traded with friends. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a must have game for any Nintendo Wii owner.

Strengths: Easy to learn, tons of characters, Nintendo charm
Weaknesses: No online voice chat, online can be lag-y
Summary: Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the third in Nintendo's fighter series and is certainly the finest yet. There is a one player mode (Subspace Emissary) which adds an entirely new level to the game. While the Gamecube predecessor had a one player mode it was haphazard at best, but Brawl's one player is an entertaining romp (and an easy way to unlock hidden characters).
Overall the game is very similar to previous versions with more items, characters and overall fun.

Strengths: Internet Brawls
Weaknesses: None
Summary: I like to game. I like the fact that I can compete with buddies over the net. Good clean fun, not as violent as some other games. The game is kind of expensive though.

Strengths: -4 player interactive fighting.
-Online play.
-Loads of playable characters with different special moves
-Comical action that a variety of players can enjoy at various skill levels.
Weaknesses: No chatting while online.
Summary: Super Smash Brothers Brawl carries the legacy of its predecesors. It has added more to the series and online battle as well. Mechanics for game play are primarily the same as previous versions but with more suprises. In this game (as in previous in the series), you will wield various characters from various sources, most of which are Nintendo Intellectual Properties (IPs). Along with their dukes, items can be used to fight. Controls are simpler than most other fighting games. Moves are simplistic, but with timing and experience, simple moves result in quite the beat down. For top of the line multiplayer for the Wii, this is a must.

Strengths: Smash Bros gameplay, Ability to play online, Attempt at single player campaign, Customization of fights
Weaknesses: Graphics, Online is broke, Non-Nintendo characters
Summary: Smash Bros has always been a fun game and Brawl is no different. It's essentially more of the same but with some great additions such as online play, new items and moves, and a campaign mode. The single player campaign mode is a pretty good attempt at making a worthwhile single player mode in fighting games (We all know it's all about multiplayer). Online is an awesome addition but I found it to be pretty cruddy. There's basically no customization, limited options, and I had difficulty connection to games. Hopefully Nintendo will fix this. The graphics are also not that impressive. Kind of like a polished Gamecube game though the CG scenes are cool. Overall, this is one of the best fighting games and multiplayer games on any system.

Strengths: wii remotes
Weaknesses: none
Summary: this is by far the best smash brothers yet. I love the integration with the Wii remotes. It makes the fighting much more fun. I was a little worried the remotes may not be responsive enough, but i was not disappointed. I also like the new characters. Esp Sonic

Strengths: High-intensity comic battling, great online with friends
Weaknesses: Laggy random online matches
Summary: Minus the bugged random online aspect - takes ages to find matches - there is little wrong with Brawl. Fighting is amusing and entertaining, the roster is fantastic, and there is finally a meaty single player mode for those who don't generally have someone around to play against. While the Subspace Emissary can drag on a bit and the online hub even for friend matches is fairly restrictive, these are mild complaints in the overall scheme of things.

Strengths: Old favorites Return, 3rd Party Solid Snake and Sonic join the fight, Great Balancing.
Weaknesses: WiFI Connection! Extremeley Brutal CPU.
Summary: 2008-07-03 01:27:27 Series Vets and Newcomers will enjoy Brawl. The gameplay is simple enough to pick up for a beginner while a vet can master all the advanced techniques. For those used to the gamecube version, the game allows you to play using the Gamecube controllers. You can also play with the Wii Remote, the Classic controller, or the Wii Remote and a nunchuck. My personal preference is the gamecube controller just because I'm used to it. I've tried with the Wii remote and it takes getting used to because there arn't as many buttons.

The characters are pretty varied, meaning not as many clones as Melee. There is a character for everyone, from the balanced Mario, to the tactiful Solid Snake. Classic mode returns with the same old feeling, not that that's a bad thing. The new story mode, The Subspace Emmisary, is a a little different. Its an upgrade from adventure mode in Melee, with a good backstory and great cutscenes. But its greatest hinderance is the lack of voice acting. Granted, Most of these characters have NEVER spoken, but for this story mode, it set me off slightly. Not to mention that some of the enemies repeat themselves a little too much. The Boss Battles make up for that though.
-
Next up is Multiplayer. At home, it can't be beat. Nothing is more fun then getting a final smash and pummeling your friends. Online is a different story. It is always a hassle to find a match to fight in. I can always find one to bet on, a nice little feature, but never one to fight in. When you do get in, the lag ranges from none to unbearable. Others have solved the math problem with their routers, but I have yet to find a viable solution. Other games like Mario Strikers and Mario Kart work fine with no connection issues or lag.
-
Overall, Brawl is a good game. I haven't touched on some of the other features, such as the stage-builder or the event matches, but it's all great! It is a definetely a buy for all Nintendo fans. My only grudge is against the online, but eventually it will work right, or so I'm hoping.

Strengths: Classic Nintendo Brawl sequal with the additions of online plays. More characters to choose from, player customize stadiums, 4 player versus mode, all the good things you expected are there.
Weaknesses: No online voice chat. Laggy online play at times. Graphics can get better.
Summary: This is the best Wii title release so far in my opinion. You have everything you expected from a classic brawl game. You have 4 player easy to pick up fighting action, both online and offline, user customize stadiums, pretty much all the Nintendo characters are there(as well as one of my favourite solid snake)And the most important for me is it is good for both adult and kids, so both me and my son can enjoy together. If it is not because of the missing of online voice chat and the laggy online play, i would rate this as a perfect title, but overall i would still rate this a solid 98/100 title.

Strengths: Great story mode, great multiplayer, great everything
Weaknesses: Some online hiccups
Summary: Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a great game, everyone should get it. Super Smash Bros. games are always good, but they get better with every incarnation. The graphics are great and the backgrounds and characters are very detailed with great effects. I've never noticed any slowdown during the offline game. The story mode is almost a game in itself - it's reasonably short, but very well-made and fun to play. It takes some time to unlock all the extra characters as well. The multiplayer fighting over the Nintendo Wifi Connection was not as good as I would hope. The Friend Code limit was pretty low and I had difficulty confirming FCs and lag during matches. That's about the only bad thing I can say about the game though, overall it's great and shouldn't be missed by Nintendo and fighter fans.

Strengths: 4-player fighting, online play, lots of characters
Weaknesses: No online chat
Summary: Super Smash Bros has always be an entertaining fighting game for both older children and adults. Meelee was an instant success and Brawl was no different. In Brawl, up to 4 players can fight one another using Wii remotes and nonchucks. There are lots of characters to choose from, ranging from Nintendo icons to special appearances from non-Nintendo titles as Konami's Solid Snake and SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog.
Online fight is a blast in this game. You add friends to the Brawl and play online. The online experience is sometime hampered by lags but it's not too overly distracting.
Super Smash Bros Brawl is a must-have game in everyone's Wii collection. It is well designed and executed. The online play mode adds a new dimension to the gaming experience.

Strengths: (1) Play as a multitude of flag ship Nintendo characters (2) Fun for multiplayer sessions (3) Decent single player mode, the Subspace Emissary
Weaknesses: (1) Online play has issues (2) The fighting system is not very deep
Summary: Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the latest, best and most robust entry in the Super Smash Bros. series and feature more and better of everything that was included in the previous games. The noteworthy new additions are online play (which is still a little buggy) and a decent single player mode. The real appeal of this game is playing multiplayer with your friends and having kind of a tribute game that features many of your favorite video game characters. Super Smash Bros. Brawl takes another good step in further expanding the boundaries of the series by allowing a couple non-Nintendo characters (Konami's Solid Snake and Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog) to join the large cast of playable mascots. Overall, a great multiplayer game with solid additions that add much value to the series.

Strengths: Nintendo's classic Super Smash Brothers formula finely honed and perfected
Weaknesses: None whatsoever
Summary: If there was ever a sure-fire AAA title coming from Nintendo for the Wii this was it. The last installment of Super Smash Brothers (Super Smash Bros. Melee) for the Gamecube is already an all-time classic. It was probably the best selling game on the system and was reason enough to own a Gamecube. The 2D brawler featuring Nintendo characters from dozens of different games is the ultimate in fan service. You can battle Link vs Samus, Mario vs Princess Peach, any combination you can think of in the 4-player battles. The Gamecube game was (and still is) a staple of local multiplayer gaming parties. The Wii version is all that and more. It features all the addictive elements from SSBM including tons of modes and unlockables - both single and multiplayer options galore. The big new feature is the ability to play online against random people or those on your Friend's list. Unfortunately, as with all Wii games it seems, you must add people specifically for Brawl and cannot just use the list of people registered on your Wii. Also, some games are hampered by lag. But overall, the ability to play online is just icing on the cake that is an excellent polished game from Nintendo and a must own game for every single Wii owner.

Strengths: Graphic, Vast Selection of Characters and Gameplay, Endless Creativity and Fun
Weaknesses: The novelty wears off fast...especially if you are in single mode.
Summary: I won't deny that this is one of the best Wii game released so far. The graphic and music score is top notch all around. There are vast amount of character selections and gameplay. However, this game is better suited for multiplayer battle (especially using gamecube controller) instead of individual campaign, so if you are planning to get it for yourself, the concept will wear off quickly. I enjoy the game, but not as much as another Nintendo classic, Mario Kart. I found the latter to offer a greater amount of funs and excitement compared to Super Smash Bros.

Strengths: Fun action oriented gameplay
Weaknesses: Graphics
Summary: Super Smash Bros Brawl is the 3rd game in the hit series, and it is a very fitting sequel. Filled with tons of characters and things to do, it will keep you entertained for hours. Multiplayer is as fun as ever, so get some friends over or join some online games and have one of the best fighting game experiences around. The graphics aren't up to par compared to other games releasing these days, but it doesn't effect the game. Smash Bros Brawl is a very good game that every Wii owner should play.
